The Virginia Beach native, who owns a record of 11-5, has scored nine knockout victories and seeks his tenth when he takes on grappling ace Lumumba Sayers (4-2). The wrestling and jiu-jitsu prospect has won two out of his last three fights, and has scored submissions in all four of his victories.

Fighting in his second STRIKEFORCE fight, Adlan Amagov is hoping to add another win to his already impressive record. Riding a three-fight win streak that includes a win over Ronald Stallings, the Russian middleweight intends to find the same result against Anthony Smith. The Omaha-based 23-year-old has strung together five straight wins, including a KO victory over Ben Lagman in July. Fans can expect an all-out war from these middleweights when they touch gloves in the center of the cage.

Fodor kept the pressure on Terry the entire fight and kept him on his heels with his quick striking. Fodor landed huge right hands in every round including a knockdown in the third round. The judges looked passed a few mediocre take downs that Terry never capitalized on to give Fodor this win.

DALLAS – Strikeforce’s first-ever event in Dallas drew a reported 7,639 attendees for a $543,060 live gate.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the figures at the post-event press conference for Saturday night’s “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” event, which took place at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker revealed the results following the event.

The numbers represent an average of $71.09 in revenue per ticket issues. The number of complimentary tickets issued was not revealed.

By comparison, Strikeforce’s Lone Star State debut, “Strikeforce: Houston,” which took place in August 2010 at Houston’s Toyota Center, drew a reported 8,635 attendees. The gate for that event was not revealed.

Strikeforce’s sister company, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has also hosted one event at American Airlines Center. That card, “UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort,” scored a reported 17,428 attendees for a $2.4 million gate.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation does not typically verify attendance and gate figures.

The “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” card, which saw Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett each earn their spots in the semifinals of Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand prix, faced stiff opposition in the Dallas sporting market in the weeks prior to the event. The city’s Dallas Mavericks, who also call American Airlines Center home, claimed the NBA championship this past Sunday. The team held its victory parade on Thursday, the same day as the media workouts for “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum.”

The main event went off without a bang to say the least in last nights fight between Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum. Werdum could not find the answer to Overeem’s take down defense and striking. Overeem dominated the night with a very boring decision victory.

Josh Barnett completely dominated Brett Rogers with smothering ground control into an easy choke for Barnett who looked solid coming back onto US soil. In a surprise of the night KJ Noons could not find any rythem for Jorge Masvidal who confused Noons with angles and control into a unanimous decision victory.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – In 2010, Bobby Voelker and Roger Bowling engaged in two of the most exciting contests of the year, splitting victories and leaving fans craving a third fight to settle the score. On July 22, the wait will come to an end as STRIKEFORCE® Challengers presents the rubber match at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., live on SHOWTIME at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).

If that wasn’t enough, STRIKEFORCE® Challengers also features Sarah Kaufman taking on Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche in a women’s welterweight matchup, a heavyweight contest between Lavar “Big” Johnson and Devin Cole, as well as a 185-pound bout between Adlan Amagov and Ronald “The Choir Boy” Stallings, and one yet to be announced bout that will air on Showtime.

The event will mark STRIKEFORCE’s debut at the Palms and the organization expects to put on several events at the fight-friendly venue throughout 2011.

“The rubber match between Voelker and Bowling will not only settle the score between the two, but it will also help determine another rising contender in the welterweight division,” STRIKEFORCE CEO Scott Coker said. “This event on July 22 is loaded with potentially explosive fights and we’re excited to kick off our relationship with the Palms with such a great card.”

Kansas City’s Bobby Voelker (23-8) has proven that defeating him is no easy task, as he’s shown by winning three of his last four, including the last fight with Bowling in October. This July he’ll have his sights set on Cincinnati’s Roger Bowling (9-1), who earned his nickname “Relentless” thanks to scoring seven of his nine professional victories by way of stoppage. Fresh off a win over Josh Thornsburg in March, the 28-year-old now turns his attention to winning the trilogy.

Former welterweight champ Sarah Kaufman (13-1) returns for a pivotal fight that could determine the division’s next title challenger. With her only career loss coming to Marloes Coenen last year, the 25-year-old Canadian Kaufman is a tremendous finisher with 10 of her 13 wins coming by way of knockout. Former U.S. Marine Liz Carmouche (5-1) steps back into the cage for the first time since battling STRIKEFORCE women’s welterweight champion Coenen in an exciting bout last March. The aggressive striker, who currently trains in San Diego, Calif., meets Kaufman in what should be an explosive 135-pound women’s bout.

Lavar Johnson (15-4), having lost only once since August of 2008, holds wins over the likes of Shane del Rosario and Virgil Swicker. He looks to spark a run up the heavyweight ladder when he meets Team Quest product Devin Cole (18-9-1), in what will surely be an explosive matchup. Cole, a wrestling standout who won a national championship with Southern Oregon University, is 5-2 in his last seven bouts.

Since losing his first and only bout, Russian Adlan Amagov (7-1-1) has gone unbeaten in his last eight fights. On July 22, he debuts in STRIKEFORCE and looks to continue his impressive run. Currently riding a two-fight win streak, Ron Stallings (9-3) has made quick work of his opponents. With all of his wins coming by either by KO or submission, expect fireworks from the Temple Hills, Md. product in this bout.

NEW YORK (June 14, 2011) – M-1 GLOBAL announced today an upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) event titled M-1 Challenge: Bennett vs. Garner featuring the rematch between the 2010 M-1 Selection Americas Tournament heavyweight finalists Pat Bennett (4-2) and Kenny ‘Deuce’ Garner (6-3). The bouts from The Hangar in Costa Mesa, California will air LIVE on SHOWTIME on Friday, July 8 at 11 p.m. ET/PT (Delayed on the West Coast).

“The rematch between Bennett and Garner has been in the works since last year; it’s a fight Pat has asked for specifically and both men are prepared to put on a show. Kenny ‘Deuce’ Garner steps in to replace the injured M-1 Global Heavyweight Champion, Guram Gugenishvili; Garner last faced Bennett in the 2010 M-1 Selection Americas tournament finals, where he won a convincing first-round TKO.

Garner is best known for his relentless self-marketing which he backs up with one-punch power as evidenced by his four knockout wins. Hidden behind the heavy leather is also a potent submission arsenal and solid wrestling base which makes this rematch a potentially explosive outing for both men.
