UFC AIRS PRELIMS LIVE ON FACEBOOK!

How does the UFC offer it’s fanbase extra fights? Facebook.  The UFC has decided to air the prelims live on Facebook for its 4.5 million friends to catch live on Saturday. Fans will have the opportunity to tune in at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) and just by clicking the like button can watch the prelims live. After the prelims, fight fans are switching over to Spike TV to watch the Fight For The Troops II.

The two fights that that the UFC is airing will be a lightweight battle between Cody Mckenzie and UFC veteran Yves Edwards as well as a welterweight clash between DaMarques Johnson and Mike “The Joker” Guymon.

Through a press release from the UFC President Dana White said “I’m always looking for ways to give fans fights for free and this is just another example of that, Facebook is such a great tool for people to stay connected and we’re excited to put two live fights on our UFC page for free.”

The fights are in conjunction with an online auction that will help raise funds for the brave men and women who fight for our country. Prizes include the chance to attend the premiere of season 8 of the hit show Entourage, as well as the chance to meet Philadelphia Phillies centerfielder Shane Victorino and attend a Major League Baseball game as his guest.
