NOT SO FAST: Couture says retirement talk premature.

In a very Favre-like reversal of field, Randy Couture says he’s not done yet.

Speaking through a representative, MMA legend and pioneer Randy “The Natural” unretired this morning after speculation that his comment “It’s time” on Twitter meant he was retiring for good.

Couture’s lawyer Sam Spira said today that there has not been any “official announcement” and that the UFC would likely handle the coordination of any official retirement statement.

On ESPN’s MMA Live Couture said “I feel good physically and still feel like I can compete at a high level” while Kenny Florian speculated that the only fights remaining for Couture would likely be “novelty fights” and brought up Tito Ortiz’s name as a possible opponent.

While Couture is 47 years old, he hasn’t been dominated or punished badly in any fight and has stated on many occasions that physically he feels fine and he’s still developing as a fighter.
